Rules version 1.0 « Thread Started on May 11, 2008, 1:11am »
General Rules
1.) Treat each other with RESPECT!! This includes both staff members and other members. Anyone caught or reported disrespecting a fellow member will be warned, given a nice long lecture via PM, and/or banned for a week. Repeated violations will result in a permanent ban of the violator’s account, e-mail, and IP. (Yes, this includes flaming, racial, political, and religious issues. You can disagree, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but please people, don’t do it in a disrespectful manner…)
2.) No pron/porn/hentai/sites having to do with any of the afore mentioned. ‘Nuff said. Violators will be banned from the site for a month. If they are caught again, it’ll be a permanent ban
3.) Absolutely NO cybering and NO trying to seduce people into cybering. If the seducee is caught going along with this s/he will also receive a permanent ban.
4.) Please, please, please RP in story format! Not like what you’d do over IM or in the CBox. There will probably be acceptations to this rule, but not in most forums under most circumstances. (Say there’s a spoof board, you can RP out of story format in there.) Also, placing speech in color, bold, italics, underline, etc. would be nice, however isn’t a must. - ex. Reno sat behind his paper cluttered desk, not even attempting to look like he was actually working. There was a knock at the door and he bolted right up. “Yeah, come in…” He said almost reluctantly.
5.) DETAIL people! We’re not little kids! Do what you can to post at least two, 7 sentence paragraphs. Now, this may not always happen, I understand, my muse likes to call quits on me at times too, but try and put forth effort.
6.) Good grammar would also be nice, so that people will understand what in heck is being said…
7.) No godmodding or powerplay! This is a given! You can’t be invincible in battle, even if you’re the almighty Sephiroth or the kick-arse Cloud. There will be punishments for this, depending on the severity. (CBox and spoof boards not included. It’ll also be more tolerated outside of a battle situation.) This is basically taking down someone such as, say, a Turk with one mere blow or taking control of Cid without Cid’s permission. When posting, be careful to type something like ‘attempted to hit’ or ‘threw a punch at’ or some variation of those, instead of something like ‘he kicked his head’. The wording won’t be punished, but it’s a personal pet peeve of this Reno’s…
8.) Don’t spam. Just don’t do it. It’s silly and annoying and people moronic enough to do it just to annoy the staff will find themselves covered in a Geostigma worse than Rufus’ in Advent Children… We’re generally mild-mannered, but when pushed, it ain’t pretty.
*9.) Four characters (including originals) [b]max are allowed.[/b] (Possible exceptions, but not often.) When making said four characters, they need to be created on separate accounts. When you’re posting a new character profile, be sure to list somewhere who your other characters are. You need to have at least 50 posts to gain a second character, 125 (both post count totals on two accounts suffices) for a third, and 250 for a fourth. This is subject to change, depending on circumstances. (The post rules are now in place! They may become lax again, but that's ONLY if people are willing to take a chance and start posting, AND we don't get any more new members.)
10.) When leaving a thread, say ~Exiting Thread~ or something of that sort. When a topic ends write ~End Topic~, and notify a staff member.
11.) Please have a signature and/or an avatar of your character! (Unless it’s an OC – original character – and no reference picture was used.)
12.) Some swearing is allowed. After all, without their swearing, where would Cid and Barrett be today? However, if major swear words are used, censor them for the sake of everyone’s eyes. Also, please don’t over do this…
13.) Alcohol and smoking is fine in character (like we'd be able to do it for real on here...) on this forum. (Reno’d be sunk without his booze and Cid would die without his cigarettes… Sorry Sera!)
14.) Don’t bother the staff about staff openings! If you’re deemed worthy to be a staff member, you will be given the chance!
15.) Whenever the heck the site gets active, activity checks will commence every 2-3 months or so. However, there would need to be roughly…say, 30 active or active-ish members for that to happen.
16.) When you’re leaving for an extended period of time, post it in the Extended Leave forum. That should be self-explanatory.
17.) Affiliate means affiliate, advertise means advertise. ‘Nuff said here too.
18.) Have fun! We’re all dorks and nutcases here, so let loose and be yourself!
19.) There is currently a ban on OC First class soldiers. Just first class. So, if ya wanna make your character a soldier, pick a different class! *giggles*
20.) Spare poor Reno the pain of having to say this more than once: NO FORMER TURKS!! Now, Before Crisis Turks, if you wanna claim them and make them your own, that's fine, but please, other than that, just, no...
CBox suchness
1.) We’d appreciate no advertisements in the CBox, that’s why there’s an advertisement section. 2.) No flaming, etc. It’s the same as the above. 3.) No cybering. 4.) No spamming. 5.) …Basically just read all the above rules, apply them to the CBox, and you’re set.
Punishments
1.) A kind warning (#1) 2.)A warning through PM and on the user account (#2) 3.)
