Curiosity... gotta love it! (Open!) « Thread Started on Oct 19, 2009, 1:58pm »
Grave was getting bolder, flying at night to different towns. Why Kalm? Curiosity. He wanted to know what other towns were like. Even though he feared people, his fascination for them created a stalemate. This stalemate gave him the confidence to leave the Train Graveyard in Midgar and travel. He hoped someday, he'd no longer be afraid of people.
Like that's ever going to happen.
This night proved fruitful in his town-hopping. People were outside, and he could study them without being seen. Of course... the only thing that gave him away was the telltale dark green glow of his eyes. He had to hide that somehow. Before any bystander could notice the unfamiliar glow, it was gone. Grave kept moving to make sure he didn't cause any unnecessary chaos. He didn't count on being seen by another being who was able to spot the difference in the pictures. Hopefully no violence would come to him in being spotted.

It had been a while since Cloud had almost driven into that creature. He hadn't seen it since and, to be terribly honest, he quite hoped not to. It had been a strange thing, he was unsure how to react. Did he fight it or leave it? It had seemed harmless enough, quite terrified, but maybe that had just been because it was hurt.
Right now, the swordsman/delievery boy sat upon the roof of an empty building. Why? Well it wouldn't have been polite to sit upon a roof of someone's home, now, would it? His gaze focused solely on the moons above as its light washed over him: giving his blond hair and eerily pale glow. His sword lay balanced on its side, besides him, neglected for the time being.
As each passer by glanced up to him, Cloud smiled slowly - never taking his gaze to theirs but almost oblivious of their presence. Unfortunately, he could never just be calm. His mind was far from dazing as he listened almost ferverishly for any signs of abnormalities around him.

Grave kept observing, staying in the shadows. He noticed somebody sitting on a rooftop. Alright, nobody normal ever sat on rooftops! If memory served him correctly... there was only one man with blond hair that defied gravity like that. He was nearly run over by him on a transport machine of some kind. He could hardly remember the event... wasn't there a second guy? No matter.
The demon had to keep out of sight, especially around the rooftop sentinel.
That was when things turned around for the worst. A wing was accidentally in view, and somebody had seen it. What he did not want to hear was screamed at the top of the kid's voice, "MONSTER!" It was followed by wailing... which was followed by the kid running away.
Grave immediately hid in the shadows. Dammit, found out, and now he was going to pay the price for his curiosity. How did that saying go? Curiosity killed the cat? Well it was curiosity maimed the demon in this case.

A sudden scream snapped Cloud's attention back to the ground below. Several yells followed shortly after as the fear spread quickly through the townsfolk, and numerous citizens turned on heel and fled in one or all general directions.
Springing lightly to his feet, the swordsman made his way silently across the rooftops with careful bounds. He frowned, stepping over the tiles as his cool eyes searched for any source of the panic painted onto every face down below. 'Monster' huh. Well this would be interesting then.
Slipping onto the guttering and dropping down to the pavement, Cloud kept a hand firmly grasped upon the hilm of his sword: resting behind him. The damn thing had hidden had it? He couldn't spot anything in the immediate distance. With a small hum of discontent, the blond's eyes cast over the shadows of the buildings and allyways: searching for any sign of anormalities.
None.
Listening as intently as he could, the delivery-boy paced up the street - pausing every now and again and tightening his grip on his sword as though he sensed something before moving on.
